Why not stop in Hautvillers, a charming village known for its Benedictine abbey. Then head to Cumie?res to stop for lunch in Le Caveau, a restaurant sculpted from a cave.Continue to Damery to visit the 12th-13th century church that overlooks the village and houses a painting by Watteau of the Madonna and Child (18th century). On the way to Venteuil, you’ll pass Cha?teau de Boursault where you can purchase palate tingling champagnes. The valley trail will take you through villages between vines, fields and forests all the way to Reuil where you can visit the Chateau de Malmaison. You will then continue cycling on the other side of the Marne back to Epernay and stay overnight in a 3* hotel.

Day 3: Loop ride in Cote de Blancs: 35km

If Chardonnay is your favourite white wine then you’re in for a treat. Your first visit of the day will be the vineyards of The Co?te des Blancs, which is the homeland of the Chardonnay grape. Continue along the Champagne Tourist Trail descending towards Pierry where you can visit its 18th century cha?teau and the Chavot-Courcourt church which boasts a solitary island of stone in an ocean of vines. Pedal along the trail close to the cliffs and you’ll end up in Cramant and its over-sized bottle (8.50 metres), and then continue to Avize, a quaint village decorated in frescoes. Continue your journey to another beautiful village called Oger. Here you should visit the museum dedicated to “traditions, love and Champagne”.
